Title: Greeeat
Post by: Ryann on August 20, 2009, 12:32:09 PM
So...  I experienced my very first mid-west storm, and lets just say, I was a blubbery, freaked out mess.  I hate thunder and lightening.  Well, this storm was like, and I kid you not, non-stop lightening strikes.

Now, I sleep in a camper trailer, my little bit of privacy from my niece and baby brothers.  Around 12:30AM my dad, stepmom and youngest blood brother, are yelling for me and my other brother to come inside.  Well, here I am buried in my blankets crying.  My brother literally has to coax my ass out of bed, and make me run from our trailer to the house.

Well, I get almost to the cement walkway when my flip flops say, "Nope, we're takin' you down" and I fall on my ass in the pouring rain, with lightening every where around me.  Ha!  I freaked out, jumped up and ran inside, realizing that when I got in there, that my brother had collided faces with my dad when they both tried to help grab me and my toe was throbbing.

Well, this morning, I realized as I'm looking at my foot...  My two last toes on my right foot are now broken!  lol  Fucking storms...

Broken Toes and Lightning Storms: A Memoir.

I'd buy it.

Pssshhh... storms are nothing. Try a tornado on for size... or the tail end of a storm that had tornados touch down on the other side of the water. Now that's always fun, so much water that your roof leaks... and it seeps in around the basement windows because it's that deep in the grass outside.

Hell, I rp during t-storms. Now if only I had a lappy, I could rp while the power's out too. :)

Yeah, well...  Now my toes are taped up...  Nurse came and looked at me at the ER and said, "Go home and tape them up, put your shoes and socks on, and it'll save you about $1000 to have our doctor do the same thing."

That's the one thing that freaks me out the most about heading to Great Lakes. I don't do well with irrational weather patterns either.

Then again, earlier in the summer, it seemed like here and Seattle switched places meteorologically. 40 days no rain there, and it poured for just about all of May in NY.

Sorry to hear about your foot, but the nurse was right, doctor's just gonna tape it to the rest of your foot and call it a day. I'd tell you to try to keep off of it, but this place seems to have good common sense reserves.

Ah well...  I like it here.
