@Tim: from what you said sounds like you heard what HBO was planning at one point. All I can say was they were adapting each comic as an episode shot for shot and Arseface was not only in it but... the special effects makeup just in test run was unsettling and dead on. And seeing what they've done converting True Blood, which is much better presented than the books, I've got some confidence.

Though note that it's not so much the books being bad on True Blood as limited first person giving such a narrow window of the story and... said character being one of the most annoying in the show.  I'd seriously be more happy with that show if they culled the main cast down to Pam, Eric, Lafayette, Jessica, Hoyt, Sophie-Anne, maybe a less tormented Tara, and brought back Godric for goddamn sure.

I don't like True Blood at all.  Just does not appeal to me in the slightest.  Never read the books though, but I have a friend who loves the books and dislikes the show.  All I can say is the show gives me no motivation to try anything written by Charlaine Harris.  Meh

And yeah, I heard about the maybe-show HBO was going to do for Preacher, and I even heard about how before cutting it out they tried to re-work it into a one-season mini-series but that fell through too.  Idk, I just don't think a Preacher show would work, honestly.

Anyone hear anything about the new series picked up?  Grimm looks like it could be good.  David Greenwalt's a showrunner and it's about a detective who works in the world of fairy tales (Gee, sound like Fables much, guys?).

Archer

I forgot I watch Psych also  :D

Currently Watch: Big Bang Theory, Parks & Recreation, The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, The Office, Castle, E4's Misfits, Futurama, The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park (probably more that I've forgotten.. but those are the main ones).

Used to Watch: Nip/Tuck, Chuck (we're way behind in this season because the story is retarded now), Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Star Trek: TNG, Babylon 5, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Frasier, Death Note

Shows I've Only Seen Some Of: True Blood, Dexter

Shows I Want to Watch: Game of Thrones

I just watched the first episode of Campus. That's funny. It's a little like Garth Marenghi's Darkplace which is just genius in all ways.

Has anyone seen The Thick Of It? It's what the film In The Loop was based on. Friggin' hilarious and scarily believable satire of civil service and the nitty gritty of politics. For those who like that, Brass Eye was good too.

Two more of my favourite sitcoms: Father Ted and Black Books.

I don't expect anyone to have heard of House of Rock; it was a series of animated shorts with Freddie Mercury, Marc Bolan, John Lennon, John Denver, Notorious BIG and Kurt Cobain all sharing a house together. Look Around You is a very funny and surreal parody of school science shows. The Smell Of Reeves & Mortimer is... indescribable in human words.

Another B5 fan, good to know.

Also ditto on Game of Thrones, but I don't have HBO, so I'll probably end up buying the Blu-Ray or stealing it from a friend in the future.

I am now 100% caught up with Parks & Recreation... and I have to say I love Ron Swanson. Seriously. What a great show with top notch acting. It's hilarious!
